Fastest Web Browser and the Worst

The effort Apple put Nitro Engine to boost the speed of Safari 4 is not in vain. Apple's latest browser is still in beta version proved far more quickly than its competitors.

Nitro Engine is super fast JavaScript engine that is used to multiply the Safari browser's JavaScript capabilities up to 30 times faster. Speed racing than Internet Explorer and three times faster than Mozilla, Firefox 3.

Not only that, Apple also improve the performance of HTML (HyperText Markup Language) in this browser, so the ability to open the pages three times faster than Internet Explorer 7 and Firefox.

Is this really or Apple just exaggerating? Not really. Tests on the Safari 4 Beta using the SunSpider spent 657 milliseconds. While on Safari 3 takes more time, 2970 milliseconds.





Firefox 3 requires a much longer time is 2399 milliseconds, indicating the speed of this browser is much less than the browser that requires less time.

Even the latest beta version of Firefox 3.1 (Firefox 3.1) is also developing an improved JavaScript engine speed and said a lot faster than Firefox previously only reached the figure of 1034 milliseconds in testing.

While in this test Internet Explorer shows the worst performance. The time needed to complete testing of 19 902 milliseconds. But the Internet Wxplorer 8 is much better with the numbers 4137 milliseconds.

All tests are run on iMac computers with the Windows Vista operating system. Tests run on iMac with Mac OS X Leopard shows Safari 4 Beta scored 639 milliseconds, and Firefox 3.0 in 2535 scored in milliseconds.
